Concrete Canvas used to provide slope protection and channel lining in Panama

In April 2018, Concrete Canvas® GCCM* (CC) was used to protect two sections of slope, four drainage headwalls and a drainage channel near a residential area in Panama. The slopes are situated next to a river which, during the rainy season, can see water levels rising to the point of affecting the base of the slope, causing instability. As a result, it was decided that the slope should be protected. Find out more about this installation here.

Case study for Bella Vista channel installation released

In June 2017, Concrete Canvas® GCCM* (CC) was used to line a channel in La Serena, situated in the IV Region in Chile. The aim of the project was to eliminate water losses from the irrigation channel, known as the Bellavista Channel, which was relied upon by the Bellavista Channel water community. Slope alongside mountain road protected from erosion with CC in New Caledonia

In October 2017, Concrete Canvas® GCCM* (CC) was used to line a slope along a mountain road in New Caledonia. Surface runoff had caused erosion on a section of the slope which leads down to a drainage pipe outfall area. The erosion had caused large areas of the slope to subside, affecting drainage, putting the slope at risk of slip and in turn, endangering road users. Lagoon walls lined with CC in Paraguay

In March 2018, Concrete Canvas® GCCM* (CC) was used to line the sloping walls of two lagoons in Bella Vista, Norte, Paraguay. The lagoons required lining in order to be used as decanting tanks for a biproduct of bioethanol, which would be removed in order for the remaining product to be processed for animal feed. Concrete Canvas featured on American TV programme, 'The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation'

Earlier this year, co-Directors Will Crawford and Peter Brewin were interviewed for a segment about Concrete Canvas which would be featured on American programme The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation, shown weekly on Saturday mornings on CBS. Preliminary injunction issued against Tiltex manufacturer Eurobent

A Polish court has issued a preliminary injunction against Eurobent Sp.zo.o the manufacturer of TiltexTM (a cement/sand filled GCL product marketed as a GCCM) to refrain from infringement of Concrete Canvas Technology Ltd.’s patent PL/EP 2027319. A suit has also been filed against a distributor of Tiltex in Germany. To read the press release in full click here.

In October 2017, Concrete Canvas® GCCM (CC) was used to provide crest drainage to a new retaining wall constructed to create a new bus lane as part of the North Fringe to Hengrove MetroBus Scheme in Bristol. A smaller channel was also lined as part of the works to extend an existing poured concrete channel. The works were carried out by Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd. for West of England Travel. Tens of thousands of pounds saved on Golf Course installation in Cheshire with CC13

Back in January (2018), Concrete Canvas® GCCM (CC) was used to provide protection to a shallow cover utility pipeline at Oak Mollington Golf Club in Cheshire. The contractors, Northern Divers (Eng) Ltd, typically used Concrete Mattresses in the past, but CC was used in this instance to provide easier transport and cost savings into the tens of thousands. Remediation of recreational lake in Johor, Malaysia completed using CC

In September 2017, Concrete Canvas® GCCM (CC) was used to remediate a number of slopes, guard rails and footpaths surrounding a recreational lake in Pasir Gudang in Johor, Malaysia. The slope around sections of the lake were deteriorating, resulting in water loss. The concrete walls were also damaged, creating voids and endangering visitors. Back in November, 7,800m² of CCH5™ was used to line and protect two bunds and adjoining channels on a rig site owned by Saudi Aramco in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The newly constructed bunds were 320m and 172m in length and required protection ahead of the approaching rainy season to prevent damage.

Concrete Canvas specified to reline a channel at a Mine Water Treatment Works in Silkstone, Barnsley

In October 2017, Concrete Canvas® GCCM (CC) was used to line a channel at the Silkstone Mine Water Treatment Works (MWTW) in Silkstone, Barnsley. The channel had previously been lined with HDPE which had been damaged in recent flood events, risking untreated water entering the nearby stream before reaching the reed bed treatment system. CC was specified to reline the channel.

In March 2016, Concrete Canvas® GCCM (CC) was used to line a road-side drainage channel. The channel was over 1500m long, and in need of erosion protection to reduce the risk of flooding on the road. Overspill channel on mine site in South Wales lined using CC to prevent flooding of local communities

In September 2017, Concrete Canvas® GCCM (CC) was used to line an overspill channel on the site of the former Parc Slip opencast mine. The installation was part of the Margam Restoration, and was required to control water levels in the void and prevent flooding of nearby communities.

CC used as multi-application solution at Gas Distribution Plant in Brazil

In November 2017, Concrete Canvas® GCCM* (CC) was used to protect a slope in Guarantingeta, São Paulo, Brazil. The slope, located on the site of a Gas Distribution Plant owned by Comgas, Brazil’s largest gas distribution company, co-owned by Cosan and Shell, was heavily vegetated prior to installation. The client also required a channel lining solution for a newly dug drainage channel created at the toe of the slope.

CC used to line cofferdam as part of land reclamation for construction in Hong Kong

In November 2017, Concrete Canvas® GCCM (CC) was used to cover ballast fill materials in a steel tank cofferdam in Hong Kong. The cofferdam had been temporarily constructed in the sea off the site of a new highway which was being constructed along the coast of Junk Bay. As an environmental protection requirement, a cofferdam was erected in the sea to enclose the entire construction site.

The channels were located on an industrial estate owned by forestry company, Montes del Plata, owned by Arauco and Storaenso. The works were carried out by Pronto Cemento for Montes del Plata. Damaged water diversion pipe on hydroelectric plant site in Turkey remediated using CC

In May 2017, Concrete Canvas® GCCM (CC) was used to line and protect the interior of a damaged diverting pipe in a remote area in the town of İkizdere, Turkey. The pipe functions as a water diversion pipeline from the İkizdere hydroelectric plant, owned by Zorlu Energy Group. The pipeline, originally constructed using concrete, had badly deteriorated and were in need of remediation.

In October 2017, Concrete Canvas® GCCM (CC) was used to line a Pit Cut Back Drain at the Damang Gold Mine in the south-west of Ghana. The lining of the Pit Cut Back Drain was selected for trial purposes to determine the advantages of CC over HDPE lining methods. The client also wanted to witness CC's unique properties first-hand.

The canal, owned by Voies Navigables de France (VNF), was expanded several decades ago. However, the installation was not carried out correctly and has resulted in leakages and water loss.
