The RWG is one of the largest container terminals in the Netherlands, and the world's most modern and innovative. The terminal is extensively automated, with Optical Character Recognition cameras used to track rail traffic in and out of the terminal.
OCR cameras recognise the unique identification codes seen on trains, which allows the system to transfer scanned train information to editable and searchable data within the system.
In order to keep the OCR camera system in full working order, a solution was required to provide weed suppression around the rail tracks to prevent vegetation growth obstructing the indentification codes on trains and containers.
ProTanks Trade BV worked with RWG to come up with a solution, and specified CC5™ for the project.
