Wales Online has named Concrete Canvas as one of its top 35 Tech companies for 2018.
The online publication has recognised companies that provide a “snapshot highlighting that Wales has much to be proud of in terms of innovative firms”.

In October 2017, Concrete Canvas® GCCM* (CC) was used to line a channel at the side of the Three Arch Bridge which runs over the rail line in Sherborne, Somerset. The purpose of the channel was to divert surface water runoff from farmers fields away from an embankment that had previously slipped due to saturation.
The works were carried out by Suttle Projects on behalf of Osborne, for Network Rail, with input and Consultation provided by from Arcadis, who specified CC as a robust channel lining solution that would require minimal future maintenance.
The project was carried out in two stages to suit the site programme – this project was carried out alongside a larger project which was required to reinstate an embankment which failed during a storm event.

In April, a Polish court issued a preliminary injunction against Eurobent Sp.zo.o – the manufacturer of Tiltex™ (a cement/sand filled GCL product marketed as a GCCM*) – to refrain from infringement of Concrete Canvas Technology Ltd.’s patent PL/EP 2027319.
The court of appeal in Wroclaw has rejected the appeal by Eurobent Sp.z o.o and upheld the preliminary injunction to refrain from infringement of Concrete Canvas Technology Ltd.’s patent.
The fine for non-compliance remains amongst the highest on record set by a Polish court for a case of this type.
Concrete Canvas wish to reiterate that they will seek to enforce their intellectual property rights where they have grounds to believe that they are being infringed by a manufacturer, distributor or otherwise.

A Polish court has issued a preliminary* injunction against Eurobent Sp.zo.o the manufacturer of Tiltex™ (a cement/sand filled GCL product marketed as a GCCM) to refrain from infringement of Concrete Canvas Technology Ltd.’s patent PL/EP 2027319. The fine for non-compliance is the highest on record set by the Polish courts for a case of this type.
Concrete Canvas has also filed a suit in Germany against Frank GmbH who distribute Tiltex™ under the brand Frank BVR 9000™ and Eurobent Sp.zo.o jointly for infringement of Concrete Canvas Technology Ltd.’s patent EP 2027319 B1.

The winners of The South Wales Chamber of Commerce Welsh Business Awards 2017 have been announced at a glittering awards ceremony held at City Hall in Cardiff, with Concrete Canvas Ltd taking home three awards.
The Treforest-based company won the Success Through Innovation and Success Through Overseas Trade awards before being named Welsh Business of the Year for 2017.
Concrete Canvas produces a flexible, concrete impregnated fabric that hardens on hydration to form a thin, durable, water proof and fire resistant concrete layer.
Since the company’s conception in 2004, when it was formed by Co-Directors Peter Brewin and William Crawford, the business has grown from strength to strength, and now exports internationally, with its products used in more than 80 countries around the world.
Peter Brewin, Co-Director, Concrete Canvas Ltd said: “When our name was called for the first time we were absolutely delighted but to be called back to the stage three times was completely overwhelming. These awards are testament to the hard-work that the team has put in over the last 18 months and I couldn’t be prouder of all that we have achieved.”
Heather Myers, Director of South and Mid Wales Chamber of Commerce said: “The calibre of entries for this year’s Awards was extremely high and I think we have ended up with some very worthy winners.

The University of South Wales was headline sponsor for this year’s awards, with the Success through Innovation category sponsored by Western Power Distribution, and Success through Overseas Trade category sponsored by Barclays Bank.

Concrete Canvas has been named as the winner of a Lloyds National Business Award!
The company has won the Samsung Innovation Award. Our co-director Will Crawford attended an ceremony where he was presented with the prestigious award.
Concrete Canvas co-founders, Will Crawford and Peter Brewin, have been featured in Business News Wales as the official success stories for the Faces of a Vibrant Economy campaign run by Grant Thornton UK LLP.
The campaign is part of Grant Thornton’s “commitment to shaping a vibrant economy in the UK” and showcases some of the people across the UK who are helping to do just that. This year, Will and Pete were one of just three of the Company’s Cardiff branch’s 25 nominees to make it to the final 100 Faces.
The campaign was launched on Wednesday 8th November, where professional portraits of the final 100 Faces, captured by Getty, were shown in an exhibition in London.

A report recently published by CC researched and written by Vladimir Mironov has found that Concrete Canvas (CC) has half the Carbon Footprint of conventional concrete.
The study included comparisons of the Embodied Carbon levels of a CC lined channel with a conventional concrete channel transportation carbon costs for locally sourced concrete supplies in comparison to CC which can be transported up to five times further.

The inventors and Co-Founders of Concrete Canvas Peter Brewin and William Crawford were on site today to launch the first Concrete Canvas demo-park opening in Russia.
The main applications for the material have been utilised at the United Concrete Canvas Russia demo-park to allow visitors to assess the benefits of the material.
