Concrete Canvas used at West London Football Club training ground

In August 2017, Concrete Canvas® was used to line a drainage channel at a West London football club’s training ground. The aim was to prevent erosion and silt generation by improving the existing channel, which was prone to blockages and clogging drains nearby. By doing this, pitch and land drainage capacity would also be improved.

CC used to replace concrete block system for channel lining

The channel in question carries water from an outfall pipe to a silt trap before entering the Jubilee Lake in Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, UK. The original concrete block system was used to line part of the channel. The unlined section had eroded, undermining the system and creating a 3m deep scour hole. Corroded Kent culvert lined with CC

The invert of this culvert in Herne Bay, Kent was corroding as a result of water immersion and sediment flow. Kent County Council approached Steadline (working on behalf of Amey) for a solution which would line the culvert to prevent further damage and extend its working life without reducing capacity or flow, or changing its shape. Highway Repair works incorporate GCCM for drainage in USA

Storm Water Solutions have featured an installation of Concrete Canvas® GCCM in the USA where the material was used to provide protection to a gravel drainage system at the crest of a slope alongside a highway. The works were carried out as part of a scheme to reconstruct the slope and road damage caused by the Mud Creek landslide.

Roads & Bridges features US channel lining project

Online publication Roads & Bridges has featured a Concrete Cloth™ channel lining project from Illinois, USA. The project involved the lining of a concrete paved drainage channel on the I-74 in Moline, Illinois, which had collapsed due to years of undermining from soil erosion and scour, which resulted in severe erosion of the entire downstream waterway area.
