Project Overview

In January 2016, Concrete Canvas^®GCCM (CC) was trialled as an erosion prevention method for a pipe protection bund for a gas pipeline in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The bund was at risk of weathering erosion which could have led to the exposure of the gas transport pipe beneath, risking infrastructure and environmental damage.

Solution

Other conventional methods, such as Bitumen, can quickly degrade under high levels of UV exposure and can have a huge environmental
impact. In addition there is risk of wildlife damage, to which CC would be much more resistant.

Bulk Rolls of CC5^™ were specified
Bund re-profiled into a uniform surface
Vertical layup
Screwed and sealed overlap joints
Perimeter edges secured in anchor trenches
3,000 gallon truck used to hydrate material

Summary
