Project Overview

In June 2018, 2,250m² of Concrete Canvas^®GCCM (CC) was specified to provide a channel lining solution to a newly constructed drainage channel that was cut into the eastern crest of the new road cutting. The design and build contract was undertaken by Alun Griffiths (designed by Jacobs) for the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

Solution

Given the high volume and flow rates anticipated from the adjacent agricultural land, the channel required lining to prevent scouring of the channel invert and stop water ingress into the cutting. CC was chosen due to its speed and ease of installation, minimal in-service maintenance requirement and its low logistical footprint during installation.
