ALTERNATIVE USES FOR CC & CCH

CC can be installed rapidly, removed easily using a disc cutter and disposed of like any other concrete, making it an ideal solution for temporary works while providing impact, vandalism and vegetation growth protection as well as maintenance reduction for effective pipe and cable protection solutions.

Installations in underground mines are complex due to access restrictions and the sensitive nature of the sites, making conventional concreting solutions infeasible. CC can be cut to required size and transported by hand, allowing for a rapidly erected vent wall solution.

The unique physical properties of CC (such as flexural strength, puncture resistance, UV and weed suppression) enable the material to be used as an alternative to armoured facings on geosynthetic reinforced structures.

Prepare the substrate so that surfaces are well compacted, geotechnically stable with a smooth, uniform surface.

It is important to ensure that the CC is jointed at every overlap between layers and that those layers are fixed to the substrate.

It is important to prevent water or wind ingress between the CC and the substrate, both around the perimeter of the installation and along the joints.

It is important to properly hydrate CC, using enough water for the quantity of material used and allowing for drying conditions.
