Dunrobin Castle Station is situated near the coast in the East of the Scottish Highlands, approximately 53 miles north of Inverness. The station was opened in 1985 for tourists, serving the Dunrobin Castle during peak season.
Adjacent to the rail tracks is a slope, the crest of which required periodic maintenance to prevent overgrowth of vegetation to prevent blockage of a drainage channel that runs along it. The client decided to look into options for lining the channel in order to prevent erosion, reduce cutting saturation and prevent any potential land slippage.
Concrete Canvas® was specified for the project, with 1500m² of CC8™ bulk rolls installed in total along the 500 linear metre channel.
